Description
- The campsite is located at the southwest corner of Cheung Chau, with 11 acres of land in the park divided into four themed camping areas.
- The campsite offers a unique outdoor natural ecological experience, allowing close-up viewing or contact with various creatures. The flowers, grass, trees, butterflies, bees, reptiles, etc., in the park are all part of nature. For more information, please inquire with the front desk staff.
- The South Africa camping area faces a vast grassy plain with a natural ambiance surrounded by vegetation. The facilities incorporate stylish glamping methods while retaining the essence of the African wilderness.
- There are three sizes of camp huts available in the area, accommodating 2 to 9 people. Each camp features a balcony, picnic table, and roof light; inside the tent, there is a ceiling fan, hanging light, and mosquito net. The huts are equipped with air conditioning, hot/cold showers, and toilets, providing campers with luxurious and comfortable camping.
- There is no refrigerator in the South Africa camp. You can rent an insulated box with ice (50L) at the campsite office. Additional ice requires an extra fee.
- The campsite offers BBQ dinner ordering service; food must be pre-ordered at least three days before check-in. The campsite has freestanding BBQ stove and tabletop BBQ stove two types. All BBQ stove rentals include charcoal, serving plates, ignition tools, grill, and tongs. Please bring your own tableware.
- The campsite also welcomes bringing your own stoves and food, but you must follow staff instructions to cook in appropriate areas. The campsite also has a cooking stove set available for rent, but food must be self-provided.
- The camp has various recreational facilities and adventure experiences suitable for people of different ages, such as rope descent experiences, etc.

Stoves and BBQ Set

- The campsite provides optional freestanding BBQ stove (for about 12 people) with two packs of charcoal (+$300.00) / tabletop BBQ stove (for about 3-5 people) with one pack of charcoal (+$120.00) for rent. All BBQ stove rentals include charcoal, serving plates, ignition tools, grill, and tongs. Please bring your own tableware, but food must be self-provided.
- The campsite also welcomes bringing your own stoves and food: Wilderness Cooking Set (burner x1, pot x1, fuel x1) (+$150.00), but you must follow staff instructions to cook in appropriate areas.
🚌Transportation Directions:
🛥️Ferry from Central Pier 5 to Cheung Chau (fast ferry approx. 35 minutes, ordinary ferry approx. 1 hour)
1. Walking: From Cheung Chau Pier, walk right towards Cheung Chau Market. Then along the seaside on 'Cheung Chau West Embankment Road' towards Sai Wan
direction to the end, turn left at 'Happy Store' onto 'Zan Dun Road'. At the top of the slope, you will see the big red sliding gate of Sai Yuen. The whole walk takes approx. 20 to 25 minutes.
2. Bicycle: Rent a bicycle from a shop near Cheung Chau Pier to Sai Yuen. Limited paid bicycle parking is available inside Sai Yuen (tricycles excluded).
3. 🛥️Street Ferry: From the public pier to the right of Cheung Chau Pier (under the white canopy), take 'Wah Shing Street Ferry' to 'Sai Wan Pier / Cheung Po Tsai Cave' (boat approx. 10 minutes), then from Sai Wan Pier turn left onto 'Zan Dun Road', passing 'Big Archway' and 'Mei King Yuen Village', up the slope to see Sai Yuen's big red sliding gate. Journey approx. 4 minutes.
