🦪 Hong Kong Pearl Cultivation Association is a government-sponsored pearl farming company. Our pearl farm is located in the sea near the Ma Nam Wat area, Sai Kung District. Through pearl cultivation and innovative outdoor workshops, we want to rebuild the beautiful name of "Pearl of the Orient" for Hong Kong, promote local pearls, clean the ocean and raise public awareness of pearls.
🦪Our workshop is inspired by the pearl tour in Uwajima, Japan. We cultivate Hong Kong Akoya pearls.
🛥️In 3 hours, you will learn about pearls and their relationship with the ocean. During the workshop, you will learn to harvest pearls, design and create your own pearl accessory with the pearl that you harvested at the site. You can also enjoy free-fishing. It must be an unforgettable experience.

🌊 What To Expect
Participants will learn about the history and culture related to Hong Kong pearls. You will also learn the basics of pearl cultivation and sustainable development.
The most exciting part, harvesting the pearl oysters! The workshop's professional instructor will first show you how oyster shells are opened and pearls are harvested. Then you can try yourself!
Under the guidance of the professional instructor, the pearl is finally taken out by yourself!
Every piece of pearls is unique with different colors. You never know until you open it!
After taking out the pearls, you can start to design and create your own accessory. There is a wide range of choices such as bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and rings, etc.
WOW! From harvesting the pearl to finishing the accessory, all are done by yourself.
You can learn the charm of nature and the knowledge of pearls. It is very educational and suitable for families to spend a memorable time!
⚠️Things to note
- Participants are highly recommended to wear simple clothes, a jacket, and sneakers. Please avoid wearing sandals. Prepare drinking water and other outdoor equipment (including sunscreen lotion, mosquito repellent, and umbrella).
- Due to the nature of this activity, it is not recommended for persons with impaired physical mobility or those in wheelchairs.
- This activity is not stroller and wheelchair-accessible.
